The Shimmery Breakdown

Pigment, Powder & Paste Guide

Mica Powder: Soft, pearlescent shimmer with a silky fine texture. Commonly used for soaps, bath bombs, makeup, tumblers, and artwork where smooth blending and subtle shine matter.

Chameleon Mica: Colour shifting mica that changes hues depending on light and angle. Silky fine and commonly used for layered projects, nail art, and dimensional craft effects. For best results, use over a black base.

Holographic Powder: Ultra smooth powder that creates a reflective rainbow chrome effect. Commonly used for chrome nails, shimmer accents, topcoats, wall paint, and statement surface finishes.

Glow Powder: Fine grain powder that charges with light and emits a luminous glow. Popular for glow tumblers, signage, art, décor, nail designs, and night time effects. For best results, charge in direct light. Glow duration may vary depending on conditions.

Pigment Paste: Creamy, highly concentrated opaque colour designed for epoxy and similar mediums. Commonly used for tinting epoxy bases, topcoats, and layered pours.

Note: Colour, finish, and performance may vary depending on application, base, lighting, and conditions. Testing is recommended to determine suitability for your intended use.

Good to Know

Cosmetic Grade Materials: Some powders (mica, chameleon, holographic, and glow) are made from cosmetic grade materials and are commonly used in applications such as body art and nail designs. Customers are responsible for testing and determining suitability for their intended use.

Pigment Pastes: Formulated specifically for epoxy and similar mediums, these highly concentrated, opaque pastes deliver bold colour with just a small amount. Always start small and test first, as using too much may affect curing and leave your epoxy tacky.

Pigment pastes are not skin safe and are not recommended for use with Hyperion or CrystaLac. Avoid contact with rubbing alcohol, as it may cause clumping.

Pigment pastes blend beautifully with glitters or glow powders to create custom colours and unique effects. Handle with care, as they may stain skin, tools, and surfaces. Keep out of reach of children and store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.

Slight Batch Variations: Like paints or fabrics, pigment production uses colour lots. Small shade differences between batches or particle sizes may occur.

True Colours: We aim to photograph and display shades as accurately as possible; however, lighting, screens, and background tones may affect how colours appear.

Not for Food Use: Avoid direct contact with food or beverages.

Packaging: All products are sold by weight, not volume. Different particle densities mean some jars may appear more or less full, the weight is always accurate.

Available in a bag or jar, shimmer your way, whether you love sleek display jars or simple heat sealed bags.

Please note: Chameleon micas, holographic powders, and pigment pastes are available in jars only.

Important Note: Colour, finish, and performance may vary depending on application, base, and conditions. Customers are responsible for testing and determining suitability for their intended use.
